Abstract

The design of an architectural space requires the use of 3D design software in the Architecture profession. In Cuba, their use is limited by the scarcity of technological resources or by teachers' lack of knowledge of software that can be used in the current technological infrastructure. The objective of this work is to show the experience from the Mathematics subject of using GeoGebra 3D as a design tool for Architecture. Through observation, interviewing students and bibliographic review of scientific documents and study plans of the Architecture and Urbanism degree, a Workshop called GeoArqui was held to reflect the usefulness of this software as a design tool in the degree. As a result of the experience based on a sequence of tasks, the students designed a prefabricated tank in the software by applying GeoGebra 3D tools. The experience demonstrated the usefulness of GeoGebra 3D as a tool for architectural design.
