Abstract

Emerging technologies have caused a revolution in different professional sectors of today’s Word, including medical sciences. A search of the scientific literature was carried out in the databases Medline, Redalyc, SciELO, Google, BVS of Infomed using keywords. The objective was to describe the need to incorporate the competencies digital technologies in medical education and provide a didactic perspective for the implementation of these competencies in postgraduate training. From research, teaching, administration and management to patient care: each object and each field of medicine is immersed in a digital transformation process. To participate creatively and actively in this process, residents of the different specialties, need a comprehensive construct of knowledge, skills, values, attitudes, framed in digital professional competencies to comply with the quality standards demanded by today’s society. The integration into the curriculum of the medical specialties of courses and modules on basic digital skills could constitute a preliminary approach to incorporating these competencies into the medical training of postgraduate.
