THE PROFESSIONAL IMPROVEMENT OF THE COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHER FOR THE TEACHING OF THE SCRATCH PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE IN PRIMARY EDUCATION

The Third Improvement of Education in Cuba entails transformations in the conception of the teaching-learning process of the subject "My digital world" for the teaching of the Scratch programming language, which requires a coherent preparation of Computer Science teachers of Primary Education. However, the professional training of these specialists is methodologically limited to instruct this content. The objective of this study is to assess the pedagogical effectiveness of the virtual improvement course, developed to learn to teach Scratch, through the Moodle platform with blended learning methodology. Theoretical and empirical investigative methods were used: the analysis synthesis, the observation of the pedagogical practice to verify the main needs of professional updating, the structural-functional systemic method in the elaboration of the virtual course. In the results, the effectiveness of the improvement proposal reflected in the learning of the programming logic and in the use of this for the creation of teaching means is recognized. The improvement of the ways of professional performance of the Informatics teacher is appreciated
